According to the report of the International Eurasian Taxi Forum, only 31% of respondents confirmed their presence. In half of the subjects of the Russian Federation (52% of respondents), electric vehicles are still not used as passenger taxis. At the same time, the authors of the report note the positive dynamics of the introduction of electric vehicles into the taxi transportation industry in comparison with 2023. The number of regions where their operation began increased by 17%.
The Nizhny Novgorod Region became the leader, with taxi companies numbering about 385 electric cars, leaving far behind the regions with a traditionally developed field of electric propulsion – the Krasnodar Territory (260 units), the Rostov Region (200 units), St. Petersburg (151 units), Moscow and the Moscow Region (120 units each).
The reason for the sharp increase in the number of electric vehicles in the Nizhny Novgorod region, including in the taxi and commercial transport segment, was the implementation of the Hyper project of the federal electric vehicle operator. To date, more than 380 Evolute electric vehicles manufactured in Lipetsk are available to passengers in the capital of the Volga region, and the company has launched 102 fast electric vehicles.
"According to our estimates, there are now more than 600,000 taxis in the country, and their number is constantly growing. This is a huge potential for the development of the electric transport market, both for domestic enterprises producing electric vehicles and for the entire industry, including charging infrastructure and user IT services," said Alexey Tikhonov, founder and CEO of Hyper.
